ADIRE TRADITION

Where the geometry comes from

Adire is a Yoruba resist-dyeing technique with roots in southwestern Nigeria. Its indigo-resist geometry and repeating motifs are the direct ancestors of Kusuum's colour language. The bold geometry in designs like Daavi and Ife begin in that same hand-blocked tradition.

Every pattern is a decision.

Muriel Sackey starts each design in her studio, on paper, with pencil and ink. What you see on your wall is that drawing, scaled up and printed on non-woven paper in the US. No filters. No generated patterns. The hand is in the design from start to finish. Available in premium paper and peel & stick substrate.
