An inspirational past
Kusuum Home is a personal story, forged from the rich, vibrant culture of Ghana, a multicultural melting pot of 66 ethnic groups and 52 languages.
Uniting them all are the common tongues of family, music, dance, storytelling, and the sharing of fine food.
In this land of celebration, festivals, and riotous color, Kusuum looks beyond the traditional tropes of West-African design to probe the authenticities of Ghanaian life.
Behind Kusuum is Muriel Sackey, a Ghanaian-born designer now resident in the US, by way of the Middle East. Muriel collaborates with renowned artisans to reimagine West African-themed wallpapers for a Transatlantic audience.

Hand-drawn wallpapers
Muriel and her artisans never rely on tribal artwork and artifacts.
The result is something more human, more granular: snapshots of lives lived with warmth and joy.
Signature themes pop from the walls: the geometric patterns of tribal homes, the wash of the Gulf over pristine sands, a young lady balancing goods on her head, and the dancers who whirl to the ancient drum beats of Dagomba.
Kusuum weaves these West-African flavors into artfully hand-drawn wallpapers to bring new energy to Western walls.
Whatever size the space, Kusuum wallpaper is always refined, dramatic, and deeply layered within a rich cultural heritage.

Color and Authenticity
Kusuum explodes onto the scene with a vibrant celebration of West African life! Our unique wallpaper designs, inspired by everything from geometric tribal houses to the whirl of celebratory dancers, bring a fresh burst of color and authenticity to your walls.
No longer confined to tired tropes, Kusuum delves deep into sub-Saharan-African culture, offering nine stunning wallpaper designs with up to five colorways each.
And for the ultimate personalization, bespoke creations utilizing the entire Pantone palette are also available. Kusuum: where vibrant West African inspiration meets cutting-edge design for a truly unforgettable look in your home.
